Knights of Columbus Founded in New Haven, Connecticut 125 years ago by Blessed Father Michael McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is under way at the Vatican, the Knights of Columbus is dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. It is the world’s largest lay Catholic organization with more than 1.7 million members in 14,000 councils in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Caribbean, and Poland. Annually, the Order reports raising more than $140 million dollars for charity and volunteering more than 64 million hours of service. Our local council has provided financial assistance to St. John Neumann parish, by donating over $30,000.00 for the past fiscal year. We have also actively participated in parish ministries and supported all parish organizations and activities. We have volunteered help and financial aid to Habitat for Humanity Project and financial help to six local Catholic schools. We have donated over $100,000.00 to local and state charities. We make a monthly donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Council 9291 has accomplished much more and will continue to do so. Our council has doubled in size in the last six years. We are always looking for good Catholic men, 18 years and older, to join our organization. We are proud to represent the Knights of Columbus Order at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Our council meets on the fourth Monday of each month in the Scott Room of the Family Center at 7:30 p.m. |
