Pro-Life Committee
The Pro-Life Committee is composed of parishioners, including the Catholic
Daughters of the Americas - Our Lady of Fatima, Court 2596, who feel passionately
about the plight of the unborn and their mothers enough to actively participate
in activities outlined in the U.S. Bishops Pastoral Letter on Pro-Life.
The four areas are prayer, education, policies, and aid to mothers and children.
Our committee belongs to a larger Archdiocesan organization to network with
other Catholics who work on the four areas. At St. John Neumann, we are
constantly asking for baby clothes and diapers to attend to the physical
needs of mothers and their children. Distribution of these items is handled
through the Vincent de Paul Society, Allied Women’s Center (a Catholic
Crisis Pregnancy Organization, run by Tere Haring), and Birthright.
We look for opportunities to educate our parishioners through the bulletin,
Religious Education, and the R.C.I.A. programs. We witness our Pro-Life
commitment by participating in the annual Life Chain and our weekly Pro-Life
Rosary, Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Our Lady of Fatima Garden. EVERYONE
is welcome.
